El sesgo moral del lenguaje periodistico

Soy suscriptor y admirador del periodismo de El País de España y de lo que producen sus redacciones en los países americanos. En estos días leí mucho de lo que expresó su director sobre el criterio editorial y sobre lo que dijeron sus periodistas en el Congreso de la Lengua en Arequipa. Sin embargo, me permito hacer la siguiente reflexión para evitar que se caiga en la arrogancia periodística. Hablaron mucho sobre el lenguaje, pero quiero referirme al sesgo moral del lenguaje periodístico.  El periodismo, incluso el más prestigioso, no escapa a ese sesgo moral que se esconde en las palabras o dentro del criterio editorial que se usa a conveniencia.  Basta revisar cómo El País, por ejemplo, clasifica a algunos presidentes.  Donald Trump y Javier Milei son “ultraderecha”; Nayib Bukele, “autoritario”.
